The raise and the pedigree
Agon raised $30 million ($7M pre-seed plus $23M seed) from Lakestar, Lux Capital, Northzone and XYZ Venture Capital, with Unity Technologies founder David Helgason as chair — his first defence board seat. The founders carry unusually relevant CVs: Tristam Constant ran Applied Intuition’s European defence operations, was a senior director at Anduril, and served 13 years in the British Army; co-founder Junaid Hussain is a serial entrepreneur. What “defence AI infrastructure” actually means

The ethics of autonomous weapons are real and unresolved, and “we only do the training data” is a genuine but partial distance from them. Second, $30 million and a stealth exit is early — this is a bet on a thesis and a team, not a proven product, in a market (defence procurement) that is famously slow, political, and hard for startups to crack regardless of pedigree.
