Resideo Technologies announced a 22% year-over-year increase in ecommerce revenue for Q1 2024, driven by its wholesale division ADI Global Distribution. The company reported $4.6 billion in net sales, attributing growth to digital platform enhancements and logistics improvements.

Digital sales reach new heights

Resideo Technologies revealed in its Q1 2024 earnings report that ecommerce revenue grew 22% compared to the same period last year. The company’s wholesale arm, ADI Global Distribution, accounted for the majority of this growth, with net sales reaching $4.6 billion.

CEO Jay Geldmacher stated in the earnings call that digital channels now represent a core component of the company’s growth strategy. ‘Our investments in omnichannel capabilities are paying dividends, particularly through ADI’s platform,’ Geldmacher said.

Operational improvements drive efficiency

The company’s March 2024 partnership with regional logistics providers enabled same-day delivery for 60% of ADI’s SKUs, reducing average fulfillment time by 34%. Additionally, Resideo’s new AI demand forecasting system, launched in Q1 2024, decreased out-of-stock incidents by 27% compared to 2023 levels.

Resideo has allocated $150 million in 2024 capital expenditures for warehouse robotics, with plans to automate 70% of ADI’s North American distribution by 2025. These operational upgrades complement the company’s mobile app enhancements and automated distribution center investments.

Industry competition intensifies

Competitors are responding to Resideo’s digital success. Johnson Controls reported 18% ecommerce growth in its Q1 earnings, while Honeywell has accelerated development of its B2B ecommerce platform. Industry analysts note increasing pressure for digital transformation across the pro-installation market.

The ongoing integration of Snap One’s smart home products, now 80% complete, is expected to add $200 million in annual sales through ADI’s platform. April 2024 channel checks showed Snap One’s Pro Control products experiencing 41% sales growth post-acquisition.
