The Times NOW Asian Business Leaders Conclave 2025 highlighted Asia’s growing dominance in AI innovation, with key discussions on regional collaboration, regulatory challenges, and sustainable growth.
Asia’s accelerating AI adoption and digital transformation were the focal points at the recent Times NOW Asian Business Leaders Conclave 2025. Industry leaders emphasized the region’s strategic advantages while addressing critical challenges like data governance and talent development in the AI-driven economy.
Asia’s AI market poised for explosive growth
According to data presented at the conclave, Asia’s AI market is projected to grow at a 28% compound annual rate through 2027. Kobbi Shoshani, keynote speaker and tech strategist, noted: ‘What we’re seeing isn’t just adoption – it’s Asia redefining AI implementation paradigms.’ China, India and Japan are driving this expansion, with India’s market growing 35% year-over-year in Q1 2025 according to NASSCOM data.
Diverging regulatory approaches create opportunities
The event highlighted stark contrasts in regional AI governance. While China introduced strict new ethics guidelines on June 8 focusing on generative AI transparency, India maintains a more flexible approach. Sukant Mishra of the Asia Digital Economy Forum commented: ‘This regulatory diversity forces multinationals to develop adaptable AI strategies – those who succeed will gain significant first-mover advantages.’
Investment and talent initiatives accelerate progress
Japan’s recently announced $1 billion AI startup fund and Singapore’s regional talent program (aiming to train 10,000 professionals by 2026) demonstrate the region’s commitment to building AI infrastructure. South Korea’s 42% May export surge in AI-related technologies further underscores Asia’s growing global influence in this sector.
